Scots Football traveled to Flower Mound to Start Season
Extreme heat warnings pushed kickoff back to 7:30pm in Lewisville, the Scots were ready.
Planes flying overhead at Marcus Stadium in Flower Mound were not the only things flying through the air. Warren Peck passed for 265 yards in the Scots’ season opener leading them to a 56-24 win over Flower Mound Marcus. Firing completions to eight different receivers Peck showcased the depth of the receivers on the Scots. Peck through two touchdown passes and ran in two others. Bryce Laczkowski got the Scots on the board with a 44 yard touchdown reception, minutes later Keller Holmes ran into the endzone to give the Scots a 14-0 lead.
One of the most exciting series of plays came in the second quarter when Junior Jack Morse made a diving tackle forcing the Marauders to attempt a field goal. Scots’ Daniel Turner blocked the kick sending the ball bouncing backwards where teammate Jack McCallum scooped it up and ran for a Scots touchdown. Giving the Scots a 42-10 lead before halftime.
The Marauders looked a little more alive after halftime but it wasn’t enough to come back. Meanwhile the Scots added a rushing touchdowns from Wilson Axley and Parker Thompson, Air Force Academy commit, who came in as quarterback to make a 31 yard dash to the endzone.
The Scots will face a fired up Lewisville team Friday, September 1st at Highlander for their first home game of the season. Lewisville’s only regular season loss in 2022 came at the hands of the Scots.
