HP’s Match Up Against Jesuit

Scots come away with a 43-20 victory and bragging rights for another year.

The highly anticipated matchup between Highland Park and Jesuit took place again at SMU’s Ford Stadium.  It appeared every Catholic in Dallas showed up to cheer on Jesuit.  Highland Park.

As the stands filled up it appeared that this year’s game would be another clash between the schools with the Scots stadiums full of students wearing Beat Jesuit shirts.

For all of the anticipation, Scots offense stepped up, scoring 36 points while Jesuit tried to make something happen.  The offensive line gave quarterback Buck Randall time, he threw for 223 yards and one touchdown to Benton Owen. The other scores came from the Scots running game.  Randall scored two running touchdowns and the Scots showed their depth in the backfield with running touchdowns also coming from Matthew White, James Lancaster and Isaiah Lee.

The Scots scored continually and shut down the Jesuit offense to show they have strength on both sides of the ball. They will need to play a perfect game next week against Cherry Creek who is traveling from the Denver, Colorado area.  Cherry Creek has been a Colorado State Champion multiple times in recent years.
