Highland Park beats Creekview 63-6

Ford Jackson of HP, eludes a tackle during the Scots 63-6 win over Carrollton Creekview at Standridge Stadium.

Tonight felt like déjà vu; Scots held a 49-0 lead over Creekview at halftime similar to last weeks halftime lead over RL Turner.

Within minutes of kickoff, Beckett Lawrence leapt up to pull in a pass and run it into the endzone.  All of the extra point attempts were good, mostly by Shep Pryor, and late in the game by Matt Friedman.

Caiden Reeves took a pass 33 yards for a touchdown.  Bear Anderson walked into the endzone untouched. Buck Randall kept the ball and snuck up the middle for a touchdown.

The wind was a factor in the passing game, causing passes to Evan Snelleman to be broken up; finally, Buck Randall connected twice on the classic throw to Evan Snelleman in the corner of the endzone for two touchdowns.

Bear Anderson took a pass 23 yards for a touchdown, between the Snelleman touchdown catches, putting the Scots up 49-0 going into halftime.

The defense wrapped up the Mustangs offense all night long.

The Scots returned in the third quarter using quarterbacks Thomas Coffman and Gavin Thornfield.  Ford Jackson put up two rushing touchdowns in the second half, the Scots lead with 63 points.

Late in the fourth quarter Creekview strung together a long passing play and some rushing plays, ultimately scoring a touchdown. The Mustang’s two point conversion was unsuccessful.

The Scots left Standridge Stadium with a 63 – 6 win over Carrollton Creekview. Next week is an open week for the Scots, they will return to Highlander Stadium, Friday October 30th to honor their seniors and play Birdville.
