Scots' Liam Thomas takes a pass down field against Rockwall Heath.

A trip to Rockwall to play Rockwall Heath pitted the Scots against their second 6A opponent in a week.  The Scots fell to Lewisville the week before as part of the Jerry Jones Classic played in Frisco.

The Scots appeared ready to take on the Heath Hawks.  The teams took turns scoring with the Hawks leading at half-time 27-24.  Logan Jones and James Flowers ran the ball each with a touchdown.  Randall found Beckett Lawrence as his passing target, who scored another touchdown for the Scots. Shep Pryor put up a field goal.

The second half saw the two teams take turns scoring. HP’s Logan Jones found the endzone and the Scots could see the light.  Shep Pryor lined up for the kickoff, he kicked it short for an onside kick and somehow came up with the onside kick allowing the Scots a chance.  Thompson Braner caught a pass, scoring a touchdown to put the Scots ahead 46-41.

Heath came roaring back to score another touchdown and convert for two points to give them a 49-46 lead over Highland Park.

With minutes left on the clock, the Scots got pushed back by a penalty.  Randall found Beckett Lawrence down field but Lawrence came up short.  Quickly the Scots lined up for a field goal attempt to tie the game with seconds left on the clock.  The ball did not end up where it should have somewhere in the snap process and the Scots were unable to kick the ball leaving them with an 0-2 record while still not having a home game.  Next week Highland Park will face off against Tyler at Highlander stadium.
